Jerry M. Kantor, LHP, MMHS
Jerry M. Kantor is an American classical homeopath and licensed acupuncturist known for an integrative, constitution-focused approach to chronic and complex conditions. He is the principal owner of Vital Force Health Care LLC, a practice combining classical homeopathy with acupuncture and adjunctive therapies, with a clinical emphasis on supporting mental, physical and emotional resilience “upstream” of disease expression.
Kantor’s work spans both clinical care and professional education. He is certified as a Classical Homeopath (CCH) by the Council on Homeopathic Certification and has also served as a board member of that organisation. His background is unusually cross-disciplinary for a homeopath: he trained extensively in Chinese medicine, graduating from the Nanjing College of Traditional Medicine’s Advanced Acupuncture Program for Foreign Students (1981) and the New England School of Acupuncture (1978). This foundation shaped his long-standing commitment to integrative medicine and to building conceptual bridges between traditional systems and biomedical thinking.
Clinically, Kantor is associated with work in paediatrics, mental illness, autism spectrum conditions, autoimmunity and infertility, and he has also highlighted experience with ADHD, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, asthma, IBS and other chronic or immune-related concerns. His leadership roles have included Director of Complementary Clinical Services for the Wellesley Center for Progressive Health, Clinical Director at Tapestry Health Care in Newton, Massachusetts, and Acupuncture Director of the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital Pain and Stress Relief Clinic in Jamaica Plain.
A notable feature of Kantor’s career is his early integration of acupuncture into major hospital settings. He served as a staff acupuncturist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and was the first acupuncturist to be granted an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School’s Department of Anaesthesiology. This mainstream-facing experience sits alongside his homeopathic authorship and teaching, reflecting a practitioner who is comfortable speaking to both holistic and conventional audiences.
Kantor is also a prolific writer. His published works include Interpreting Chronic Illness: the Convergence of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Homeopathy and Biomedicine, The Emotional Roots of Chronic Illness, Sane Asylums, The Toxic Relationship Cure, and Autism Reversal Toolbox. He has additionally written Heymischer Homeopathy under the pseudonym Chaim Yankel and authored a monograph titled Advanced Academic Curriculum for Homeopathic Research Studies. These publications suggest a particular interest in the psychological and existential dimensions of illness, the historical and theoretical foundations of homeopathy, and the practical challenges of chronic disease patterns.
For patients and colleagues seeking a practitioner with deep classical homeopathic orientation alongside substantial integrative medicine experience, Jerry M. Kantor represents a distinctive profile. His clinical focus on complex chronic conditions, combined with academic, hospital and teaching credentials, positions him as a homeopath whose work aims to be both traditionally grounded and broadly engaged with modern healthcare contexts.
